Thank you for considering adoption!

The first step in the adoption process starts with you.  Please consider your decision carefully.  Many pets end up in shelters because they are no longer wanted.  This is a traumatic experience for the pet and with any luck at all they will be rescued.  If they are not as lucky they will end up one of the millions of really wonderful animals who have lost their lives just because shelters were too full.  They deserved so much better...they deserved a loving home.

If you are undecided, we suggest you wait.  Adopting is a commitment and you should go into it whole heartedly and be in it for the life of your pet.  However, it the answer is yes...you are ready to make a commitment, then saving a life is one of the most rewarding experiences one can imagine.

PLEASE READ FULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION: APPLICATIONS SHOULD ONLY BE SUBMITTED IF THE PUP YOU ARE INTERESTED IN IS ON OUR WEBSITE. IF YOU DO NOT SEE THAT PUP ON THE SITE THEY ARE NOT YET READY TO BE ADOPTED OR THEY MAY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED ALREADY. WE DO NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO RESPOND TO EMAILS, PHONE CALLS, MESSAGES FOLLOWING UP ON APPLICATIONS THAT HAVE JUST BEEN SUBMITTED.  IT CAN TAKE UP TO SEVERAL DAYS TO PROCESS APPLICATIONS.

Please click here to fill out an online adoption application.   Adoption fees range from $275 to $475 and help defray the costs of medical (vaccines, microchip, etc), transports, food and general care. Dogs of appropriate age are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.  Puppies too young to spay/neuter have committed spay/neuter dates pre-arranged by the rescue at our vet with a $100 donation toward spay/neuter    We are not a shelter - all of our rescues are cared for in the loving homes of our fosters while they wait for their furever home.

What can you expect from the adoption process?  We review applications in the order in which they are received, contact references and if the application is approved, we set up a "meet and greet".  Please understand that takes time and it can take several days before you have a status on your application.  We ask that the entire family, both 2 legged and 4 legged :) be present so we can ensure the right fit for the family and the pet.  A home visit is required.  Pets...just like people...are not plug and play.  Some need more than one meet and greet.  To us it's all about the right fit for the pup and the family.  We do accommodate out of state adoptions, however, it must be within a 1 -2 hour drive from us.  Please take that into consideration when applying.

We try to respond to every application, however, please understand that sometimes responses to a particular pet are so high, it's impossible to do so.
